Mr. Magramane receives Secretary-General of Nigerian Foreign Ministry

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounès Magramane, received on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Mr. Ahmed Dunoma Umar, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as part of his visit to Algeria.

This meeting provided an opportunity to review the historical relations of friendship, cooperation, and consultation that unite Algeria and Nigeria across political, economic, and energy sectors, as well as through major strategic partnership projects initiated by the two countries to advance development and strengthen infrastructure at the continental level in Africa. Notably, both parties renewed their commitment to implementing the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP), the Trans-Saharan Highway, and the Trans-Saharan Fiber Optic Line projects.

The two sides also discussed the schedule of visits and bilateral cooperation mechanisms programmed for the second half of the current year, and exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual interest.
