Mr. Magramane Participates in a Ministerial Roundtable on “Assessing the Pact for the Future” in New York, Highlighting Algeria’s Contributions to United Nations Reform

On the sidelines of his participation in the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 7 to 15 July 2026 under the theme, “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals,” the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounès Magramane, took part in the ministerial round table on “Assessing the Pact for the Future.”

During his intervention, the Secretary-General reviewed Algeria’s efforts and contributions to the reform of the United Nations, particularly during its membership of the Security Council for the 2024–2025 term, as well as the initiatives it pursued with its various partners within the groups to which it belongs in support of multilateral action founded on the principles of justice and equity.

Mr. Magramane also highlighted the approach pursued by Algeria under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which promotes development based on investment in human capital, innovation and digitalization. On the same occasion, he emphasized the need to implement structural reforms and ensure effective resource mobilization in order to address the challenges posed by the international financing gap and alleviate the debt burdens weighing on developing countries.
