Mr. Chaib, accompanied by the Minister of National Education and the Minister of Youth, launched educational and pedagogical classes for the children of the national community abroad.

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, presided today, at the Mohand Makhbi Mathematics Secondary School in Algiers, over the official launch ceremony of the educational and pedagogical classes intended for children of the national community abroad as part of the 2026 Summer Programme. He was accompanied by the Minister of National Education, Mr. Mohamed Saghir Saadaoui, and the Minister of Youth, Mr. Mostafa Haidawi.
In his address on this occasion, the Secretary of State explained that the launch of the first edition of this programme—an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, coordinated with the Ministry of National Education and involving the Ministry of Youth—forms part of the implementation of the directives of the country’s highest authorities aimed at strengthening the ties of younger generations of the national community abroad with their homeland. This is to be achieved, in particular, by making use of their stay in Algeria during the summer season through purposeful educational and cultural programmes.
In this regard, he indicated that the programme would run throughout July and August 2026 and, in its first edition, would cover fourteen provinces, with its scope to be gradually expanded during future editions. He also welcomed the considerable interest generated by the initiative since its announcement, considering it an indication of the growing attention accorded by the national community abroad to such programmes and of the need to further develop and strengthen them in the future.
In the same context, he reaffirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ commitment to launching practical initiatives that meet the aspirations of members of the Algerian community living abroad and reinforce their attachment to their national identity.
The Secretary of State further emphasized that all the necessary human and material resources had been mobilized to ensure the success of this initiative, through an integrated programme combining educational, pedagogical and cultural dimensions. The programme will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about their country’s history, civilizational heritage, the foundations of its national identity, and its authentic values.
