Mr. Chaïb, accompanied by the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, presides over the opening of information days on voluntary affiliation to the national pension scheme for the benefit of the national community abroad.

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, together with the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi, presided today over the official opening ceremony of the information and awareness-raising days devoted to presenting the voluntary affiliation mechanism to the national pension and social security system for members of the national community residing abroad, promoting its benefits and broadening access to it.

This joint initiative forms part of efforts to ensure the optimal implementation of this voluntary measure introduced by the country’s highest authorities for members of the national community abroad, reflecting their continued commitment to addressing the community’s concerns, including those relating to social welfare. This mechanism strengthens the social protection afforded to Algerian citizens residing abroad and ensures its continuity, regardless of their countries of residence.

This information and awareness-raising campaign was launched for members of the Algerian community residing in the Gulf and Middle East region and will subsequently be extended to the various regions where the national community abroad is established. This will help raise greater awareness of the mechanism’s benefits and the facilitations provided for the affiliation process.

In his address on the occasion, the Secretary of State reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining close coordination between the foreign affairs sector and the labour, employment and social security sector in order to support members of the national community abroad and provide all the necessary information concerning this service. This will ensure its optimal implementation and encourage more Algerian citizens residing abroad to benefit from it.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to deliver comprehensive presentations and explanations on the voluntary affiliation procedures and the mechanisms for benefiting from the scheme, as well as to address the various related concerns and questions raised by members of the national community abroad.
