Mr. Attaf participates in the High-Level Meeting commemorating the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, participated in the high-level meeting commemorating the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action on the elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related intolerance, within the framework of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In the speech he delivered on this occasion, the Minister of State emphasized that commemorating this anniversary serves as an opportunity to renew the international community's commitment to safeguarding human dignity, consolidating equality, and combating all forms of racism and discrimination. He stressed that fulfilling the Durban Declaration requires genuine political will and comprehensive solidarity, free from selectivity and double standards.

Furthermore, Mr. Ahmed Attaf called for the adoption of a structural and comprehensive approach to reparatory justice as a path toward reconciliation, equity, and mutual respect. He also urged that technology and digital spaces be harnessed to serve humanity, preventing their misuse in spreading hate speech, racism, or compromising human dignity and rights.
