Mr. Attaf Participates in the Annual Coordination Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the OIC Member States

As part of his participation in the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, took part in the Annual Coordination Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

In his intervention, the Minister of State emphasized the need to join efforts to enhance the organization's efficiency and effectiveness in dealing with rapid changes on the international stage. He highlighted the importance of upholding multilateralism, strictly adhering to international law, and respecting the Charter of the United Nations, while rejecting double standards in dealing with issues of international peace and security.

Furthermore, Mr. Ahmed Attaf stressed the imperative of intensifying diplomatic efforts and continuing mobilization in support of the Palestinian cause to ensure the Palestinian people enjoy their full legitimate rights and establish their independent, sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy references.

In addition, the Minister of State underscored the importance of establishing an active presence for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in international forums, unifying Islamic voices and positions, and consolidating bonds of partnership and strategic cooperation with relevant international and regional organizations. He reiterated Algeria’s firm commitment to joint action, solidarity, and synergy among OIC member states, as well as its dedication to defending just causes.
