Mr. Attaf Holds Talks with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in New York

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Barham Salih, on the margins of his participation in the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

On this occasion, both sides emphasized the importance of the existing partnership between Algeria and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and ways to strengthen it to support humanitarian response efforts and refugee protection. Special focus was placed on ways to provide support and protection to Sahrawi refugees, in cooperation with all partners and humanitarian actors.
