Mr. Attaf Holds Talks with the President of the United Nations General Assembly

On the sidelines of his participation in the proceedings of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, held talks with the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Khalil-ur-Rahman.

The meeting was an opportunity to congratulate Mr. Khalil-ur-Rahman on assuming the presidency of this vital organ within the United Nations system and to reiterate Algeria's support for the mandate entrusted to him, particularly against the backdrop of unprecedented campaigns targeting multilateralism.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of cooperation between the General Assembly and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), currently presided over by Mr. Amar Bendjama, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations in New York, with a view to promoting international cooperation and accelerating the implementation of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, thereby safeguarding the interests of all Member States, particularly countries of the South.
