Mr. Attaf Holds Talks with the Philippines’ Secretary of Foreign Affairs in New York

Continuing his activities on the margins of his participation in the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, Ms. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the state of bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and explore ways to strengthen and diversify them—particularly through investment in agriculture, energy, and fertilizer production—while emphasizing the importance of encouraging trade exchanges and establishing mutually beneficial economic partnerships.

The discussions also addressed prospects for enhancing political dialogue, consultation, and coordination between Algeria and the Philippines on regional and international issues of mutual interest, notably by stepping up the exchange of official visits and activating bilateral political consultation mechanisms.
