Mr. Attaf holds talks with the African Union Commission Chairperson

Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, met with Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the prevailing situation on the African continent, particularly in the Sahel-Saharan region, Libya, Western Sahara, Sudan, and South Sudan.

On this occasion, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission praised the wisdom of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, highlighting in particular his spirit of solidarity toward the Sahel region and the initiatives launched by Algeria toward the countries of the region to contribute to their development efforts and support continental endeavors aimed at enhancing peace, security, stability, and development across the continent.
