Mr. Attaf Holds Talks with His Yemeni Counterpart

On the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held talks with his counterpart from the Republic of Yemen. Mr. Ahmed Attaf extended his congratulations on her appointment at the head of Yemeni diplomacy, emphasizing the depth of the historical ties of fraternity and solidarity uniting the two brotherly countries and peoples.

For her part, Dr. Shayea Mohsin Zindani / Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Zuba expressed appreciation for the esteemed position Algeria holds in her country's national memory and for its supportive stances across various stages, voicing her expectation to enhance bilateral coordination and cooperation.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on developments in Yemen and their humanitarian, economic, and security repercussions, particularly regarding maritime navigation in the Red Sea. Mr. Ahmed Attaf reaffirmed Algeria's solidarity with the Yemeni people and its readiness to continue supporting efforts aimed at alleviating their suffering and reaching a sustainable peaceful solution that preserves Yemen's security, sovereignty, and stability.
