Mr. Attaf Holds Talks with His Eritrean Counterpart in New York

Continuing his activities on the margins of his participation in the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met with his Eritrean counterpart, Mr. Osman Saleh Mohammed. Together, they discussed the state of relations of friendship between Algeria and Eritrea, alongside key regional and international issues of mutual concern at both the continental and international levels, particularly ongoing developments in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa.

In this regard, both sides emphasized the necessity of strengthening high-level political consultations between the two countries, highlighting the importance of peaceful settlement of disputes and the imperative of prioritizing African mechanisms and initiatives in resolving the crises and conflicts facing the continent, in line with the principle of African ownership of peace processes.
