Mr Attaf holds talks with his Dutch counterpart in New York

Continuing his activities on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Tom Berendsen. The two ministers discussed the state of bilateral relations and prospects for strengthening and expanding them to encompass the fields of energy, security, and migration, as well as the ongoing preparations for the Dutch Minister's upcoming visit to Algeria.

The two ministers also exchanged views on security and political developments in the Sahel region, emphasizing the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach that integrates the requirements of development, security, and stability, while respecting the sovereignty of the region's states.

Cooperation between Algeria and the European Union was likewise addressed, with Mr. Ahmed Attaf emphasizing the necessity of establishing a balanced economic partnership that serves the mutual interests of both parties.
