Mr. Attaf begins New York engagements with Arab League chief meeting

As part of his participation in the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, kicked off his activities with a meeting with Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on key issues, upcoming events, and priority items on the Arab League's agenda, as well as the prevailing situation in the Arab region and developments in the Middle East—particularly in the occupied Palestinian territories—and ways to step up support for the Palestinian cause within the United Nations.

The discussions also touched upon Algeria’s role regarding the reform and modernization of the Arab League's working mechanisms, aimed at enabling the organization to respond effectively to the challenges facing the Arab nation.
