Commemorating the 65th Anniversary of the December 11, 1960 Demonstrations under the slogan ‘A People’s Uprising.’

In an atmosphere of reverence and pride, the Embassy of Algeria in Croatia commemorated today at its premises the 65th anniversary of the 11 December 1960 demonstrations, under the slogan “A People’s Uprising,” in tribute to this decisive historical milestone in the course of the Algerian people’s liberation struggle.

The commemoration program included a flag-raising ceremony to the strains of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in mercy for the souls of our righteous martyrs, and the laying of a wreath in recognition of their great sacrifices for Algeria’s independence and sovereignty.

In renewing its pledge to uphold the martyrs’ message, the Embassy affirms through this symbolic observance its steadfast attachment to and pride in the national memory, and its continued commitment to passing on the values of the November Revolution and the 11 December 1960 demonstrations to future generations.
