Statement

Algeria welcomes the reaching of a framework agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, under which military operations in the Gulf region and the Middle East will cease.

On this occasion, Algeria expresses its sincere appreciation for international mediation efforts, particularly those undertaken by Pakistan and Qatar, and stresses the importance of all parties’ commitment to the understandings agreed upon.

Algeria also expresses its hope that this agreement will serve as a basis for strengthening confidence among the parties concerned and for creating the appropriate climate to find final solutions to all outstanding issues, in a manner that ensures lasting and sustainable security in the region.
