STATEMENT

In the face of increasing provocative and hostile actions originating from the United Arab Emirates, Algeria has exercised a great deal of restraint and a high sense of responsibility. Driven by full respect for the principles governing inter-state relations, it has spared no effort in calling the attention of the Emirati side and warning it against the dire consequences that could result from its regrettable and unjustified behavior.

Despite these numerous warnings, the United Arab Emirates has persisted in these actions, reaching limits where they can no longer be considered acceptable or tolerable within the framework of relations existing between two sovereign states, nor can they remain unanswered.

Accordingly, and after exhausting all means capable of preserving bilateral relations, the Algerian Government has decided today to sever diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates.

The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates was received at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this Thursday, September 10, 2026, where he was officially notified of the substance of this decision. He was also informed that he has been granted a deadline of 48 hours to comply with this decision.
