Statement

Algeria condemns and denounces, in the strongest terms, the continued incursions by the Israeli occupation forces into Lebanese territory and their targeting of civilians and infrastructure, in a blatant attack on the sovereignty of the brotherly Republic of Lebanon and a flagrant violation of the rules of international law.

Algeria also calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities in the face of this aggression against a sovereign State that is a member of the United Nations, to deter the actions of the Israeli occupier that threaten security and stability in the region, and to compel it to respect the Charter of the United Nations and the relevant Security Council resolutions concerning the end of the war on Lebanon, including Resolution 1701, which calls for a ceasefire.
