Mr. Attaf Receives a Phone Call from His Qatari Counterpart

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, this morning, September 15, 2026, received a phone call from Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

During the phone call, the two sides discussed regional developments, particularly efforts aimed at achieving de-escalation and reducing tensions in the Gulf region. In this context, the Minister of State commended the pivotal role played by the State of Qatar in de-escalation efforts, reiterating Algeria's condemnation of the blatant violations of sovereignty and attacks on territorial integrity faced by countries in the region.

The two officials also reviewed the state of bilateral relations between Algeria and the State of Qatar, expressing satisfaction with the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation across various fields. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening and expanding these ties to serve the mutual interests of the two brotherly nations.

The two sides also discussed ongoing preparations for the sixth session of the High Algerian-Qatari Joint Commission, emphasizing the importance of this milestone in giving fresh impetus to bilateral cooperation and elevating it to broader horizons, in line with the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two brotherly countries.
