Mr. Attaf holds talks in New York with Hungary’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs

Continuing his activities on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary, Ms. Anita Orbán. The meeting allowed the two ministers to review the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and to address preparations for the upcoming visit of the Hungarian chief diplomat to Algeria, which is expected to identify new opportunities for partnership and investment, particularly in the areas of education, exchange of academic expertise, renewable energy, and culture.

Regarding relations between Algeria and the European Union and the implementation of the Association Agreement, the Minister of State raised concerns regarding barriers impeding Algerian exports to EU markets, emphasizing the necessity of addressing them within the mechanisms of the Association Agreement to ensure a balance of interests between both parties.
