Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Gaza 09/08/2025

Just a few days after the holding of the International Conference on the two-state solution, during which the international community reaffirmed that this solution is the only path to achieving a just, lasting and definitive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the occupying power demonstrates once again its disdain for the will and decisions of the international community, by planning to militarily reoccupy the Gaza Strip and displace its population by force and constraint, said the press release.

Algeria expresses its firm condemnation and categorical rejection of these Israeli plans that jeopardize the future of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian State and peace in the entire region, and affirms that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of occupied Palestinian territory and an authentic inseparable element of the Palestinian State recognized by international legality and claimed by the international community.

Algeria urges the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities to put an end to these Israeli plans and stop the genocidal war suffered by the Palestinian people for nearly two years.

While insisting on the necessity of responding quickly to the urgent priorities imposed by the current situation, notably the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, Algeria reaffirms that the establishment of the independent and sovereign Palestinian State, with Al-Quds as capital, constitutes an inalienable, imprescriptible and non-negotiable historical imperative.
