Mr. Attaf meets with Belarusian counterpart
Within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Belarus, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met this morning with his Belarusian counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov.
On this occasion, the two ministers held a one-on-one meeting, followed by an expanded session of talks with the participation of the delegations of both countries.
The discussions focused on conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the state of Algerian-Belarusian bilateral relations, particularly in the context of the progress made in implementing the action plan adopted during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Algeria in December 2025.
These talks also provided an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance the positive momentum characterizing relations between the two countries and elevate the bilateral partnership to broader levels, in line with the directives of the leaders of both countries and responding to the aspirations of the two peoples, especially in priority areas such as industry, trade, agriculture, the pharmaceutical industry, and mining, alongside agreeing to hold the second session of the Algerian-Belarusian Joint Committee before the end of the current year, as it is the most effective mechanism for monitoring the implementation of previous commitments and exploring new areas of cooperation.
Mr. Ahmed Attaf also exchanged views and analyses with his Belarusian counterpart regarding a number of current regional and international issues of common concern, amidst growing tensions in international relations, while emphasizing the necessity of adhering to international law, multilateral action, and prioritizing peaceful and diplomatic solutions to international disputes.
At the conclusion of these talks, the two ministers made a press statement to the media regarding the key points and priorities agreed upon for implementation in the near future.
