Mr. Attaf holds talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad of Burkina Faso.

On the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, held talks with Mr. Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad of the Republic of Burkina Faso.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the status of bilateral relations and prospects for their revival within the context of the current momentum to strengthen ties between Algeria and Sahel countries, as well as the key security and development challenges facing the region.

Both sides agreed to continue consultations regarding upcoming bilateral events and to work on preparing and executing a roadmap featuring practical measures to give new impetus to Algerian-Burkinabè relations.

For his part, the head of Burkinabè diplomacy expressed his appreciation to Mr. Ahmed Attaf for participating in the ministerial meeting organized by the Confederation of Sahel States during the current session's high-level week, considering this participation a strong signal of Algeria's support for these countries and its commitment to good neighborly relations, geographic proximity, and historical ties binding the peoples of the region.
