Mr. Attaf Holds Talks with His Counterpart from the Republic of Mozambique

Continuing his activities on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, held talks with his counterpart from the Republic of Mozambique, Ms. Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas. The two ministers reviewed the state of bilateral relations and prospects for strengthening them, particularly through the exchange of visits and the development of cooperation across a number of sectors. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum characterizing relations between the two countries.

In this framework, Mr. Ahmed Attaf emphasized Algeria's commitment to advancing relations with Mozambique, particularly through the implementation of a series of projects in line with the deep bonds of cooperation and solidarity that have long united the two brotherly countries, alongside opening a direct air route between Algiers and Maputo.

For her part, Ms. dos Santos Lucas stressed the importance her country attaches to its relations with Algeria and to implementing the outcomes of the visit made by the former President of the Republic of Mozambique to Algeria in 2024. She praised the remarkable progress in cooperation between the two countries across numerous fields, particularly energy, industry, the pharmaceutical industry, as well as counter-terrorism.
