Mr. Attaf co-chairs with his Senegalese counterpart the sixth session of the Algerian-Senegalese High Joint Commission

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, co-chaired this morning in Algiers, alongside Mr. Cheikh Niang, Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad of the sisterly Republic of Senegal, the proceedings of the 6th Session of the High Joint Algerian-Senegalese Commission.
The proceedings of the High Joint Commission were preceded by a one-on-one meeting between the two ministers, followed by expanded talks involving both delegations.
The convening of the High Joint Commission constituted a significant milestone reflecting both countries' commitment to injecting new momentum into their fraternal relations and translating the high guidelines of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, into practical steps aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and broadening its scope.
In this regard, the proceedings provided an opportunity to assess various axes of Algerian-Senegalese cooperation and identify new targets and priorities across several key areas, ranging from economic sectors such as investment, energy, mining, industry, agriculture, air transport, and finance to sectors related to enhancing the human dimension in bilateral relations, including higher education, media, youth and sports, justice, culture, and women's empowerment.
At the conclusion of the proceedings, the two ministers signed the minutes of the High Joint Commission meeting, along with 15 agreements and memorandums of understanding, thereby enriching the legal framework governing Algerian-Senegalese relations.
