Mr. Attaf arrives in Jeddah to participate in the proceedings of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Commissioned by of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, arrived this evening in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to participate in the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled for August 27.

The session is expected to witness the election of a new Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, succeeding the current Secretary-General, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha.

This extraordinary session will also be dedicated to discussing the dangerous and rapid developments surrounding the Palestinian cause, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression and the escalating violations committed against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Holy Jerusalem.

On the sidelines of his participation in this meeting, the Minister of State will hold several bilateral meetings and discussions with his counterparts from participating member states, as well as meetings with officials from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
